Today I’m posting four days in two, two-page spreads (above and below). Plus I have a question for my readers at the end of the post.

Below are the individual pages and their stories.
These two spreads were a bit messy. I was still finding my way with the Hobonichi journal and various pens and stationary items.
The Wordle (above) was GRIMY so I drew a grimy stove. I’ve had a few. My first (shared) NYC Greenwich Village apartment’s stove was so gross that when you turned on a burner, roaches came pouring out.
The dreams: 1) a big green bus painted to look like a caterpillar and 2) I was living in a post-apocalyptic village with two gigantic fans at each end supplying clean-ish air.
(Above) I dreamt I was helping someone pick out songs for truck drivers including “Owner of a Lonely Heart (YouTube).”
Wordle was SEDAN so I drew my first car, a 1949 Plymouth Deluxe Sedan. Stick shift, no seatbelts or turn signals: you stuck your arm straight out the window to signal left turn, forearm up to signal right turn and arm hanging down to signal slowing/stopping (accompanied by other arm outstretched to protect unseatbelted passenger).
My dad gave me the car to transport my sister and I to our distant high school. When it wouldn’t start I was afraid I broke it, so instead of telling my dad, I made my sister push start it every morning while I “popped” the clutch.
For Wordle LEAPT, I pasted in a photo of a large watercolor painting I did years ago, based on a dream and the quote, “Sometimes your only available transportation is a leap of faith.” ~ Margaret Sheppard
The dreams on this page: 1) I went outside in shorts and flip-flops to find my dog and discovered it was snowing. 2) I was wearing the horrible, itchy, oatmeal-colored sheath dress that I despised and would never want to see again and a boyfriend (with terrible taste, obviously) told me it looked beautiful on me.
(Above) Wordle was HUMAN, which I was surprised to learn is derived from “Humus” meaning “dirt” or “earth.” Chimps are our closest human relatives so following my own rules, I chose to illustrate a chimp instead of a human.
The dreams: 1) My eye surgeon (I recently had eye surgery) shows me his new Virtual Reality app that lets you interact underwater with sea creatures. 2) Same surgeon gives me a luxurious shampoo and hair treatment with keratin.
QUESTION for anyone who has read this far: I would love to know if you think it’s worth it for me to write the stories about the pictures here on my blog or if just posting the journal pages is good enough?
If I don’t get any answers I’ll know the answer LOL!

I think the pages say enough.

Thanks Sue. I appreciate the feedback. It would be very time saving to just post the pages and skip all the writing. It amuses me to do it because I enjoy writing but it’s so time consuming.

Hi Jana,
While I enjoy your written explanations your journal pages are so well done I don’t think it’s necessary given the amount of time it must take. I get such a kick out of your vivid dreams!!! I can’t even remember mine! I really enjoy seeing a day in the life of you.

Thanks Julie. I’m glad you enjoy them. In order to get more posted and take less time I’m probably going to write a little less. I want it to remain fun and not turn it into work, which i seem to be able to do with anything! One minute I’ve found a fun way to play and the next thing i know I’ve built rules and schedules…
