Pink Ballerina GI Joes Aren’t a Thing (Wordle: STAGE, FLAIL + dreams)

There is so much on these two pages that I’ll post them separately below with their stories. The righthand page was especially meaningful, with the pink ballet dancers from my dream.

Wordle: FLAIL and STAGE plus dreams.

Wordle: Stage and Dreams of Ballerina Figures like GI Joes

(Above) One dream tied in perfectly to Wordle: STAGE. I drew the little, plastic, pink ballerinas I dreamt about, on a stage. When I was a kid, boys all played with little green army men. I was sure that when I googled it, I’d find an equivalent version for sale for little girls (or boys who like ballet): little pink ballerina figurines.

I was shocked to discover there was no such thing, although GI Joe army guys are still very much available. When my sons were little we didn’t allow any toy guns or GI Joe junk in the house, no matter how much they begged for GI Joe lunchboxes, etc. I’m so glad they grew up in a time when there were no school shooter drills and (we thought) only soldiers and police had guns.

Here are the dreams from the page above:

  1. Pink ballerinas
  2. Professor at community college has an angry daughter named Marcy and there’s a wedding and a graduation taking place at the college. (not pictured)
  3. Professor gives me the gift of an Aztec icon and also shows me how to pull the skin on my face in a way to improve my vision.
  4. A bunch of boys in homemade cars are racing down the hallways at the college and they are all wrapped up in plastic wrap with engine oil.
Wordle: FLAIL and dreams

(Above) Wordle: FLAIL I drew my dear friend M. who frequently runs into problems on his computer, panics and then starts flailing about, clicking things until he’s locked out of accounts or worse.

The dreams this night were so bizarre:

  1. I was trying to rescue my mom who was a prostitute dressed in a ratty dog costume.
  2. Trying to drive home, missed the turnoff for Berkeley and ended up on Staten Island Ferry with a view of Chinatown and a cute shopping village.
  3. Driving up a huge hill on the freeway so steep my car is almost falling off. Still trying to drive home.
  4. I visit a library and ask the librarian to reserve a book for me about how to get home.

some dreams are definitely based on reality- professor with angry daughter, car driving up hill( my reoccurring dream), librarian would know how to help, missing the turnoff to berkeley ( maybe not end up on staten island ferry 😵‍💫🤣). they’re all so magical and relatable. love your 🧠
