Continuing with International Fake Journal Month, and my (fake) search for my identity by listening to lyrics of songs titled “Who Am I.” Today my clues come from Snoop Doggy Dog’s (unlistenable, disgusting) song “Who Am I: What’s My Name.” According to his lyrics:
Now just throw your hands in the xxx air
And wave the xxxs like ya just don’t care.
I step through the fog and I creep through the smog
cuz I’m Snoop Doggy (what?) Doggy (what?) Doggy [Dog].
Then he says:
“…with the biggest nuts and guess what?
He is I, and I am him, slim with the tilted brim.”
I listened to samples of Snoop’s catalog on Amazon while I was sketching and decided that he has an awful potty mouth, doesn’t make sense and therefore must discard his clues. Clearly, despite his claims, I am neither the one with the biggest nuts nor a dog. But I loved throwing my hands in the air and waving ’em like I just don’t care.

Love this exploration of your identity. Can our creations really define us, or–horrors–maybe create us? Love the savvy squirrel, and your gingerly two sided approach to SD. Mostly, though, the knothole in the tree–brilliantly simple, I think–reminds me of Alice’s rabbit hole. I am an Alice in Wonderland freak, so of course it would.
‘Choices, choices,’ said Sartre and concluded we don’t have good enough reasons. Probably why he turned down his Nobel. Why not try Existentialism and be who you are for its own sake.
My brain’s beginning to hurt.
Very clever journal entry, and I’m laughing at the last two statements at the end of the post. 🙂 Thanks for making me smile this morning! Have a wonderful day!
Hahahahahahahaha! What an alter-ego you have! This has got to be your funniest blog entry ever!
You write a mean fake journal and the white-out is hilarious. Is it hard to stay in character? You are definitely a most Kreativ Blogger. I’m still laughing about the bad-axx (I’m no potty mouth) squirrel and I’m going to wave my arms in the air all day.
Oh my gosh — I’m laughing so hard that I’m crying!
Thanks! There’s nothing better than a good laugh! Jana
Jana, these are great fun. I love what your doing with the illustrations for these songs and “searches.”
