While I was away from my blog, WordPress made some nice changes that are making it easier to post so I’m trying to get caught up with a few months of sketches and paintings. Today a couple of fruit bowls sketched in Procreate on the iPad.

So very nice, Jana! I hope it is okay that I copy them for practice for myself, to get hold of the idea of values more firmly! God bless, C-Marie

Of course you can, but you might be better off setting up your own fruit bowl and shining a light from one direction and seeing and drawing the light and shadow from that…or when you get it set up with the light, take a black and white.photo before drawing to help get some clarity on where the darks and lights are. I’m trying to learn to simplify and separate my lights and shadows into clear groups of dark, middle and light areas. I don’t find it at all easy.
