Ink & watercolor in Aquabee 6×9 Sketchbook
This week’s Everyday Matters challenge is to draw your exercise equipment so yesterday and today that’s what I’ve done. I drew it directly with a pen which is why it’s not proportioned properly but I told myself to just be playful and draw for fun which I did.
This is my Pilates reformer plus various associated exercise gear in my exercise room. I have lots of exercise equipment and I used to use it faithfully for at least an hour every day until I started blogging. Since then my exercise time seems to have transformed itself into blogging time just as my muscles seem to be transforming into blogging blubber.
At least if I was doing an art/walking or art/bicycling blog like two of my very favorite art bloggers, Julie and Alison, I’d be doing art and getting fit at the same time. I think the only solution is to go to bed earlier so I can get up in time to do an hour of exercise again before work. So I’ll end this here and get to bed so tomorrow I can get up early and workout.

Gosh, this is a complicated piece of equipment to draw! I don’t know what it does but I’m sure I could benefit from it!! It’s a great drawing, I like how you’ve included other details from the room (looks like a nice floor!)

Boy, I really like these…so detailed and fun. And the bra drawing is great too!
I just started doing the get up early and exercise thing. It is making me me feel better…but oh, it’s so hard for a nightowl like me. I have to work in a nap somewhere to do it. Good luck

WOW, Jana!! FABULOUS!!! And mercy — what equipment!! My pilates consists of a tape and a mat!! LOL I have the most difficult time doing any exercises before coffee in the am .. and prefer night exercises to release all that pent up stress .. but I so agree, since doing artwork and bloggin and checking mail and reading blogs, blubber is beginning to settle on my sitting place!! YIKEs! Sure wish we could sketch when treadmilling! I DO LOVE that you added the floor too, Jana .. great sketch!

I really admire you for getting all that detail in Jana – very nice sketch. Don’t you wish days were just a couple of hours longer?

Your own reformer! I have been doing advanced Pilates mat work (just got back, actually) for years but have never been on the reformer. It’s a budget thing.
Nice floor!

Okay — so we can now wish not only that we had your artistic talent, but that we had your exercise room, too!
😀 Great work on this! It is a tough piece to draw!

Jana – I took a few classes with an instructor and I call this the “torture rack”. You certainly portrayed it well.

There’s never enough time for everything we want to do, is there? Great drawing! Reminds me that art and exercise are both important – need to work them in somehow.
